William Flew on Fossils

LEXINGTON, Ky. – A miner has found a fossil from a shark jawbone deep in a central Kentucky mine and now it is on display at the University of Kentucky.
The fossil was found in February in Webster County, Ky., where 25-year-old miner Jay Wright was working to bolt a roof 700 feet underground. The 300-million-year-old black jawbone is believed to be from a shark from the Edestus genus that once swam the seas over what is now Kentucky.
Wright said in an interview Friday with The Lexington Herald Leader that his first thought was "Gosh, what is this thing?"
Jerry Weisenfluh, associate director of the Kentucky Geological Survey in Lexington, said a fossil this large is rare. It's now on display in the lobby of UK's Mines and Minerals building.
Some of the teeth on the 300-million-year-old shark fossil, recently discovered by Jay Wright, a miner for Webster County Coal. The fossil is on display in the lobby of the UK Mining and Mineral Resources Building, 504 Rose St., in Lexington, Ky., Friday, April 8, 2011. Wright recently discovered the fossil 700 feet below the earth's surface at the Dotiki Mine. Researchers at Kentucky Geological Survey and UK's Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences are studying the rare find

bit surprising to read this in a Kentucky paper because we have this idea of Kentucky being Bible Belt Genesis literalists who fart bricks if you try to tell them about prehistoric fossils.
This isn't in the Bible....obviously planted.

I've got this one. My dad's a Jehovah's Witless and he explained this kinda thing to me when I was a kid. Satan plants things like this around to trick people into thinking the Bible isn't real. Yep.

I didn't think to ask why God lets him do it, but evidently it's all part of The Plan. If you really believe, you don't get tricked by Satan's little ploys.
Wow, is Satan really that powerful that he can leave all that evidence and god leaves...a book of fairy tales?
In a related story, Republican lawmakers in Frankfort condemned Mr. Wright as a lying, Godless, heathen bastard and demanded an end to abortion.

I think we're going to need a bigger drilling machine.
